Vendas Novas Camp Center, Portugal
Vendas Novas is a small village about one hour twenty minutes outside of Lisbon city in Portugal. It is here that CEF Portugal have a seven-acre camp center and their head office serving the work in Portugal.
Vendas Novas center is used to facilitate summer camps, youth training and this year has been hosting Europe’s Children’s Ministry Leadership Course (CMLC). It is also a facility that local churches use all year round. Unfortunately, over the past number of years the center has fallen into some disrepair and requires significant refurbishment and energy-saving improvements to make it more economical to operate and more attractive and comfortable for those who use it. Some of the most significant requirements include updating the kitchen and dining areas, updating the hot water systems and the lighting systems with low / renewable energy versions.
The complex needs repainting, inside and out, beds need replaced, the fire alarm system and many other items require attention and upgrading, to bring the center to a place where it can operate more viably.
We are thankful to God for the teams from N Ireland who spent time working on the project during October, which is such an encouragement, please praise God together with us for them and their families.
