“So shall My word be which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it will accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do.” Isaiah 55:11

This promise of God and many other Bible verses encourage us to continue with our work in Eastern Europe. Children should be given the opportunity to get to know God’s word and the Saviour of the world, even or especially in difficult circumstances. In doing so, we rely on the multiplication principle that Paul already wrote about to Timothy:

‘And the things that you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.’ 2 Timothy 2:2

Training national workers has proven to be very effective over the years. Who else could better understand the children, their language and culture if not people from their own cultural background?

Last summer, the first part of the CMLC programme was held in Kyrgyzstan at Lake Yssyk-Kul. Twelve participants from three different countries came together and over the course of six weeks they learnt a lot about working with children, but also about their personal life of faith. At the beginning there were many questions, doubts and concerns as to whether we would be able to organise the course at all. But the Lord made everything possible for it to take place and we experienced many blessings. After that the participants began to put their knowledge into practice in their home countries.
